Explore the path of the death priestx (a gender-neutral term for death doula) within the mythological landscape of the Greek Underworld.
Featuring down-to-earth advice, fresh takes on ancient myths and creative tools and rituals for practice, this compassionate guide helps you cultivate a healthy relationship with death. Priestess Jamie Waggoner offers a safe space to explore your questions and feelings about death from a Pagan and magical perspective. She covers many topics, including death and estate planning, holding vigils, conducting funerals and rites of remembrance, communicating with the dead and tending to grief (yours and other people's).
Each chapter begins with a retelling of a myth or fragment of folklore from ancient Greece, followed by an analysis of the story's themes and how they are still relevant today. Jamie then reveals the story's key takeaways for anyone on the death priestx path before diving into how-to guides and best practice recommendations for death work, magical or otherwise. From plant and animal correspondences to trance journey prompts, this supportive book teaches you how to be of service to yourself, your loved ones and your community.
